Description
Kaolin is also known as China clay, a soft, creamy white clay essential to the manufacture of porcelain. Originally found and named for the Kao-ling hill in China. Deposits are found in numerous countries.

Semi-transparent. Mixes well with all pigments, mediums.
Improves opacity, gloss, and viscosity in gouache, used as a gilding and gesso ground, and for creating artists pastels. This is a very translucent white, just enough to tint your other colors without being overpowering.
